Do You Suffer from hot flashes, night sweats and weight gain?

During a woman’s life, her body transforms through menopause between the ages of late forties to early fifties although it can happen earlier or later. The menstrual cycle gradually changes and eventually ceases due to abruptly fluctuating ovarian hormones (or weak adrenal glands). The ovaries tone down their hormone production of progesterone and the ovaries stop producing eggs.  As the ovary function declines a greater dependency on the adrenal portion occurs for progesterone production.  Therefore, compromised adrenal function (and adrenal progesterone) makes unpleasant symptoms worse. Symptoms include but are limited to hot flashes and night sweats, loss of libido, mood swings and weight gain. The irony of this is it can occur from either adrenal fatigue (adrenals not making enough progesterone) or over-activity (too much being pushed down to supply cortisol) so it is best to do a saliva adrenal test (ASI®) to see which problem you are dealing with for a long term solution.

Work out your pelvic floor with Kegal exercises to strengthen vaginal and bladder muscles. Doctors recommended this exercise routine to decrease urine leakage. Dress lighter so not to add heat, or dress in layers to manage your body temperature. Avoid hot drinks and spicy foods as they increase the difficulty and episodes of hot flashes. Sadly, for coffee and alcohol drinkers, these beverages trigger hot flashes. Taking Black Current Seed Oil for hot flashes will help relieve mild cases for some women. Eat a lower carbohydrate Mediterranean type diet; focus on removing soy and dairy from your diet. Eat every 2-3 hours to avoid sugar and carbohydrate cravings. Worse symptoms on nights following a high sugar load before bed is a classic sign. Create a regular workout routine with resistance exercises to strengthen the bones. Research studies find that exercises don't directly help with hot flashes, but it does reduce stress and strengthens bone mass. Practice relaxation techniques to manage stress, pain and hot flashes. Yoga creates balance that helps women practitioners control and find relief from symptoms.
